Q1:
What components do GCP dental restorative products consist of?
A1:
The products consist of nano particles glass and fluor/hydroxy apatite particles with a size of D99<0.10 μm, and liquid silica.
Q2:
Why did GCP use nano glass particles, fluorapatite and the carbomer compound?
A2:
Nano glass particles have the benefit that less matrix remains between the glass particles. The use of nanotechnology greatly increases the reactive surface of the filling material which in turn leads to a better reaction with high efficacy. As a result it therefore facilitates superior flexural and compressive strength, Fluor/hydroxy apatite is the source for remineralisation (fluor substitutes with the hydroxy in the calcium hydroxy phosphate) which increases the natural vitality of dentin and enamel and facilitates fusion bonding between the cement and enamel/dentin. There is also the benefit of reducing beginning caries on slightly affected elements, which means that restoration is not always necessary.
Carbomer is supportive for an optimal silicone bonding with the glass leading to low solubility and a protective coating.
Q3:
Why should I use a high energy light and how do I know the temperature of my high energy LED light and whether it’s warm enough?
A3:
With a high energy LED light the product will cure and reach its superior characteristics very fast, leading to very hard material with high flexural and compressive values.
To achieve the best curing result use the GCP CarboLED light which is an integral part of the Glass Carbomer™ Tech.
A simple glass thermometer, which is offered by GCP-Dental, can be used to measure the temperature of your existing light. The temperature of the light must reach a range between 50-65˚C within 60 seconds which indicates that your light is suitable.

Why it’s Easy, direct and fast application?
A4:
After preparation and cleaning of the cavity immediately apply GCP GLASS FILL or GCP GLASS SEAL, do not use any etching or bonding agent. Apply GCP Gloss before modeling to obtain a smooth and protective layer and to avoid desiccation. Model and cure by using a high energy light that produces heat of approx. 50-65 oC. Polish and finish.

Why is the material biocompatible and is it safe for patient, dentist and environment?
A5:
GCP products do not contain any monomers, Bisphenol A, resins, mercury or solvents. Etching or underlining is not necessary. Traditional composites and RM-glass ionomers and coatings may contain resins or solvents that can harm the dentists and patients health and the environment.
